Our East Africa practice serves multinationals, large national enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises and the public sector across 4 countries of the region: Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and Tanzania.
Deloitte Tanzania is looking for a potential candidate to fill the position of a Grants Officer based in Iringa.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Ensuring that all accountabilities are updated in Grants Management System (GMS) and all activities are carried out in accordance to agreed budget contained in the signed contract
- Monitor and evaluate implementation of sub grantees' projects
- Review and ensuring sub-grantees comply with supporting documents before submission to the Senior Grants Officer as per USAID rules and regulations
- Monitoring grantee advance and liquidation balances closely and ensuring timely liquidation
- Coordinating the grant making process from solicitation to contracting including review of sub grantees budgets and proposals
- Identifying and communicating capacity building needs for the sub Grantees
- Reviewing all payments request to ensure that they meet the allowable, allocate and reasonable standards
- Reviewing program and financial reports from grantees and ensuring compliance against program description and grants budget
- Ensuring that grant documentation is maintained according to Deloitte (TUNAJALI) standards and USAID policies so that they can be audited with minimal or less findings
- Ensuring proper filling of all correspondence with sub grantees especially on contractual, programmatic and financial changes
- Preparing financial and regular management reports on sub grantees performance and ensure timely reimbursement to sub grantess for completed milestone activities
- Providing capacity building assistance to sub grantees and helping them in implementing their individual capacity building plan
- Any other duties as maybe assigned by the supervisor from time to time
Required skills & Qualifications:
- First Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience in project/grant management preferably in the health, social or financial sector.
- A holder of CPA,ACCA,CIMA or equivalent is an added advantage
- Adaptability and flexibility in working in a complex/dynamic environment.
- A team player with excellent planning, time management and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications including excel and word
