USAID/Uganda is recruiting a qualified individual to fill the position of Project Management Specialist, Commodities.
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION
Provides programmatic guidance and management support for planning, budgeting, ordering, and monitoring the utilization of USAID/Uganda’s health commodities. Ensures optimal availability and in-country oversight of USAID commodities to support HIV/AIDS, malaria and family planning programs and activities in the office of Health, HIV/AIDS, and Education’s portfolio.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSNOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Education: Masters degree in Public Health, Project Management, or the equivalent in a field related to health commodities management.
2. Work Experience: At least five years of progressively responsible professional experience in health and HIV/AIDS field. Work experience should include at least three years of project management and health commodities management. Prior work experience with development partners or Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) is desirable.
3. Language Requirement: Must be fluent in the English language.
4. Knowledge: Knowledge of national supply chain management systems and health and HIV/AIDS service delivery in the public and private sector in Uganda. Understanding of donor engagement in supporting supply chain system strengthening efforts. Knowledge of logistics management software (e.g. Pipeline, Quantimed) is desirable.
5. Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills. Demonstrated project management skills, including financial management, administrative, and monitoring skills used to track the performance of implementing partners and activities. Ability to analyze and present information and recommendations in clear written and oral formats; must be able to work effectively within a team and interagency environment; be able to initiate and self-manage work in a decentralized system; and must have ability to travel to regions and districts within Uganda. Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required.
