Under the Direct supervision of the Director General of Cultural, Social and Family Affairs is responsible to follow the implementation of resolutions related to cultural and social issues and to develop good relations between the General Secretariat of the OIC and Member States and to enhance the cooperation between the Member States in Cultural and Social issues.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- a- To provide necessary support and assistant to the Director General of the General Directorate and to render services by advising and providing input on cultural and social issues.
- b- Preparation of the Annual Report of the OIC Islamophobia Observatory for submission to the CFM.
- c- Coordinate with ISESCO on holding of meetings of Cultural Ministers.
- d- Participating in the meetings regarding the Dialogue between Civilizations and follow-up the resolutions and their implementation.
- e- To assist in preparation of various documents such as reports of the Secretary General, mission reports…
- f- To coordinate, plan and carry out studies necessary to achieve social and cultural development in Islamic Member countries.
- g- To provide support and assistance to the Director General in following-up of the activities of subsidiary organs and other specialized and affiliated institutions in matters pertaining to cultural and social affairs.
- h- To coordinate, plan and carry out study of means of cooperation among Member States in the fields of social development, to ensure Islamic promotion of the Muslim family.
- i- To assist the Director General in following-up the progress of the formulation of related work programs/proposals for the mandated resolutions by the Standing Committee for Information & Cultural Affairs (COMIAC).
- j- To assist in formulating proposals on ways of cooperation among Member States in the cultural and social fields.
- k- To assist in formulating a framework for cooperation among Member States on matters affecting youth in cultural, social and spiritual development.
- l- Play an interactive role within the Directorate by sharing views, insights and information as to the performance of the Directorate as well as actions and initiatives to be taken.
- m- Any other duties and tasks as requested by the Director General.

EDUCATION
At least Masters Degree in Social Science, Sociology, Cultural Studies, Islamic Studies, Political Science, International Relations, with deep studies regarding cultural and social affairs (Doctorate degree is preferable).
WORK EXPERIENCE
At least 12 years of progressively responsible experience gained preferably within the foreign services of the member states or at intergovernmental organizations. With good experience in multilateral diplomacy as delegate at the UN offices.
LANGUAGES
Professional fluency in (reading, writing and speaking) at least two of the working languages of the OIC, which are English, Arabic and French, and preferable three languages.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- To be a Muslim national of one of the OIC Member States.
- To be below fifty-six years of age.
- To be free of diseases and infirmities that may hinder the exercise of his/her duties
- To be either nominated by his/her State or his State should have no objection to his/her appointment.
