JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the Direct supervision of the Director General of Cultural, Social and Family Affairs The Head of the Family Affairs is concerned to follow the implementation of resolutions related to Family and Women issues and to develop good relations between the General Secretariat of the OIC and Member States and to enhance the cooperation between the Member States in Family issues.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
- a- Responsible for holding of the OIC Ministerial Meeting of women in coordination with host country and conference department.
- b- Coordinate with ISESCO on holding of Ministerial Meeting of Childhood.
- c- Coordinate with Islamic sport Solidarity Federation (ISSF) on hosting of Ministerial Meetings of Youth and Islamic Sports.
- d- Drafting decisions and resolutions regarding the women role in Member States and following-up the implementation.
- e- Implementing the OIC plan of action for the advancement of Women (OPAAW).
- f- Following-up the establishment of new specialized Organizations for women development.
- g- To cooperate and be involved in meetings and studies regarding the education and rehabilitation of Muslim Youth.
- h- To participate and cooperate in meetings and decisions working on drugs and psychotropic substance abuses and their illegal production.
- i- To provide necessary support and contribution to the Director General of the General Directorate and to render services by advising and providing input Family and Youth issues.
- j- To assist in preparation of various documents such as reports of the Secretary General, mission reports.
- k- To provide support and assistance to the Director General in following-up of the activities of subsidiary organs and other specialized and affiliated institutions in matters pertaining to Family affairs.
- l- To coordinate, plan and carry out studies of means of cooperation among Member States in the field of social development, to ensure Islamic promotion of the Muslim family.
- m- To assist in formulating proposals on ways of cooperation among Member States in the Family and Youth field.
- n- To assist in formulating a framework for cooperation among Member States on matters affecting youth and women development.
- o- Play an interactive role within the Directorate by sharing views, insights and information as to the performance of the Directorate as well as actions and initiatives to be taken.
- p- Any other duties or tasks regarding general family affairs matters.

EDUCATION
At least Masters Degree in Social Science, Sociology, Women and Family Studies, Women Development Studies, Cultural Studies, Islamic Studies, Political Science, International Relations, with deep studies regarding Family Affairs and Women role in developing the society (Doctorate degree is preferable).
WORK EXPERIENCE
At least 12 years of progressively responsible experience gained preferably within the foreign services of the member states or at intergovernmental organizations.
LANGUAGES
Professional fluency in (reading, writing and speaking) at least two of the working languages of the OIC, which are English, Arabic and French, and preferable three languages.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- To be a Muslim national of one of the OIC Member States.
- To be below fifty-six years of age.
- To be free of diseases and infirmities that may hinder the exercise of his/her duties
- To be either nominated by his/her State or his State should have no objection to his/her appointment.
