AWF is seeking a talented individual who will be responsible for ensuring strict adherence to AWF and donor Financial, Administrative, Logistical and Procurement guidelines in the Congo Landscape. This position will report to the Congo Landscape Director and will be based in Djolu with frequent travel within Djolu and Befale.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile monthly expenditure of operations of the field project in agreement with the AWF’s accounting system
- Maintain a system for the control of internal expenditure in order to ensure that the accounting documents that are processed are complete and meet the financial procedures of AWF and donors
- Ensure that the accounting documents are properly recorded and validated in the SERENIC accounting system
- Assist in the implementation of donor and AWF Standard Operating Procedures and ensure staff are informed
- Proactively identify, document, and assess compliance risks associated with project activities, and perform appropriate compliance checks for the project in the planned scope of work
- Review operations or programs to ascertain whether the results are consistent with established objectives and goals and whether the operations or programs are being carried out as planned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance , Accounting or related
- Bookkeeping qualification preferred
- 3-5 years working experience in the areas of accounting, general insurance, tenancy, logistics and procurement
- Proven computer proficiency, particularly in Excel and word processing
- Experience working with USAID programs is advantageous
- Proficiency in the use of computers especially, Microsoft Excel and Word, and accounting databases. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Serenic Navigator is ideal.
- Familiarization with government regulations, e.g., taxes, VAT/duty frees requirements, etc
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and to prioritize them. Ability to work with minimal supervision, and as part of a team
- Good knowledge of French and Lingala ; and to demonstrate a practical knowledge of English
- Ability to ride a motorcycle/bike is an added advantage
- Demonstrable commitment to AWF mission and understanding of issues faced by AWF in delivering its mission
