The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds for the employment of an Individual Consultant for the position of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Expert.
COMESA now invites eligible Individual Consultants to submit their Curriculum Vitae (CVs). The assignment for the Monitoring and Evaluation Expert is expected to be for an initial period of 18 months, extendable according to performance and availability of resources. The main responsibility of the M&E Expert is to design, operationalize and manage a comprehensive and effective monitoring and evaluation system for the CAADP process that would assist the COMESA Secretariat to keep track of implementation of the CAADP programme and effectively inform stakeholders on the CAADP process implementation progress, challenges and opportunities in the COMESA region.
The M&E Expert shall work under the supervision of the CAADP Coordinator and ultimately report to the Assistant Secretary General (Programmes).
Duties
Interested Individual consultants must possess a minimum of a Masters degree in Economics, Development Economics, Development Studies, Agriculture, Social Studies, or any other relevant qualifications from a recognized University with 10 years of professional experience in the design, implementation and review of M&E activities.
The candidate should also possess excellent command of the English language. Those with regional experience and working knowledge of the French language will have an added advantage. COMESA will only respond to candidates who have been shortlisted and determined to be suitable. These will then be invited for interviews at the COMESA Secretariat. The expert will be recruited as a consultant under the standard COMESA non-established professional staff service contracts. A competitive all-inclusive remuneration will be offered depending on background and professional experience.
