Assist the Head – CDD Operations / GM-SME, SME eCDD Country champion, Accounts services (hub) in executing tasks associated with CDD reviews and completion of Periodic Review at the business level and successful data-entry into eCDD and eBBS be updated with Static Data changes at accounts service level.
1.Complete Customer Due Diligence Periodic Reviews and ensure 100% compliance to AML/CDD procedures.
2.Ensure proper functioning of day-to-day controls, periodic CDD reviews activities, eCDD customer data entry on excel file and timely resolution of AML and other risk issues.
3.Provide business management with professional advice on all aspects relating to breaches and irregularities that border on money laundering
Key Roles & Responsibilities
•Perform AML Review of customer accounts in accordance with the laid down procedures.
•Verify all customers’ documents for compliance with Group CDD requirements and procedures and Local laws.
•Ensure eCDD documentation of files is up to date
•Forward the eCDD checklist to the RM from eCDD Reviewer and prepare tracker to ensure checklists are received within TAT of 5 days and prepare escalation to eCDD project team for all overdue checklists.
•Perform QA check for all eCDD checklists to and from RMs to ensure completeness of the checklist and all supporting documents information has been furnished as per CDD procedures.
•Perform unwrap, identify deficiencies in customer documentation.
•Use periodic Review Checklist which includes steps to rectify issues identified during the review
•Ensure completeness of periodic review for all due accounts;
•Check the ISIC codes updated, Country Codes, Date of commencement of Business & validate if all risk reasons are updated as per hard copy account opening records in eBBS system)
•Bring to the attention of the Head – CDD Operations, GM-SME, SME eCDD Country champion any AML issue that may require escalation for appropriate action.
•Scan to hub the static data amendments for system updating.
•Prepare daily report.
•Update the database.
•Upon completion of Periodic Review and rectification of deficiencies, where applicable, RMs/Branches will forward the documents back to the SME eCDD Project Reviewer/checker.
•Complete the remaining data-entry in Excel file.
•Ensure 100% compliance on Periodic Review cases completed in e-CDD (Data/Documents) to AML/CDD procedures.
•Secure the AML-related documentation in appropriate storage facility in accordance to their retention periods.
•Track all escalations to the RM/branches on a daily basis including ensuring that their resolution actions are followed through within agreed timelines and that breaches are reported for appropriate actions
•Bring to the attention of the Business BMLPO/ GM-SME, SME eCDD Country champion, Accounts services (hub) any review findings that may require escalation to other parties for appropriate action
•File STR/SAR reports with Head – CDD Operations, CMLPO per the relevant CDD guidelines and Group AML policy
•Review exceptions of controls identified through KCSA, assurance review and internal audit. Take steps to rectify control lapses and weaknesses
•May take on a Team Leader role for a small team of CDD Execution / Support clerks.
•Ensure Maintenance of a healthy business environment through strict Compliance with Anti-Money Laundering and Compliance Risk Management standards, as defined by the Group and Local regulatory Authorities
Qualifications & Skills
•University degree or equivalent qualification and minimum 2 years experience in Banking Operations gained through working in the core areas of banking.
•Strong ability to communicate; write, present and clearly defend findings and recommendations of investigations;
•strong organizational and analytical ability (Including proficiency in MS Office suite applications);
•possession of problem solving skills and attention to detail and ability to work independently and manage challenges;
•Awareness and knowledge on protecting confidential customer data.
•Ability to learn fast and work in fast pace environment.
•Knowledge of AML/CDD policies
•Excellent PC literacy.;
•Thorough understanding of the Group Operational and Compliance Risk Policies especially AML policies and local regulatory requirements.
•A strong team player capable of interacting with senior business/risk management
•Proficiency in using key banking systems and a good understanding of process mapping and process review
