System Administrator Etisalat - Egypt

To assure highest level of Systems availability and to maintain the Systems & Data integrity, security and best Systems performance. To operate the backup strategies assuring the best Systems recovery time.

Key responsibilities
1. Operate & administrate the Systems that include servers & Storage resources in the most efficient way.
2. Insures Systems Security to support the data confidentiality and privacy.
3. Implement the Systems upgrades and patches installation to assure of using the latest available technologies and avoiding the known bugs.
4. Follow up the Systems preventive maintenance activities and regular health checks.
5. Monitor and assure the Systems availability to extremely minimize the unplanned down time.
6. Operate & implement the proper Backup and recovery strategy to avoid any data loss and recover in the best possible time slot.
7. Play the Second level support role to help and assist the Database Administrators , applications support, the operation and the development teams for the issues concerning connecting to/running Systems that hosts applications
8.Install and configure any new Hardware or feature related to the Systems infrastructure.
9. Document the Systems infrastructure and maintain it up to date.
10. Learn and Share the gained Knowledge to assure the ability to run the systems in the best way and enrich the team knowledge

Desired Skills & Experience

• Solaris /AIX /HP-UX/Linux Essentials
• Solaris /AIX/HP-UX/Linux System Administration
• Solaris System Network Administration
• Shell Scripting
• Sun Certified Solaris Administration.
• BS in Telecommunications & Electronics Engineering, Computer science or equivalent.
• Minimum 2-3 Years of experience in using and administrating Unix Systems preferred Sun Microsystems.
• Min 1 Years backup and Recovery experience using Netbackup or Legato
• Experience in Sun Servers Hardware implementation, management and updates
• Knowledge of Shell Scripting
• Highly motivated with work under pressure ability
• Good communication and documentation skills
