Department
BBC Media Action is the independent international charity of the BBC which uses media to advance development worldwide. As part of one of the world’s leading media organisations, we are committed to improving the quality of people’s lives in developing and transitional countries through our innovative use of media. We do this through our focus on health, governance, livelihoods, climate change and humanitarian response. We work in partnerships that include governments, broadcasters, civil society institutions, donor agencies and international Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs). As Team Assistant for our Africa Regional Programme based in London, you will strengthen our work by providing administrative, financial and office management support to the Regional Director’s office and the Africa Regional Programme staff.
Role
As Team Assistant for our busy Africa Regional Programme, you’ll provide excellent administrative, financial and office management support to both the Regional Director’s office and the Africa Regional Programme staff. Your duties will be varied and will make a valuable contribution to the success of our work. So, you can expect to organise resources, develop and manage important programme compliance systems, and organise complex diary and travel arrangements. Importantly, you’ll also coordinate both London based and international recruitment, including raising authorisations, sourcing job descriptions and arranging interviews and test.
Requirements
You’ll bring experience of working as a PA at Director level, with a proven track record of diary management and preparing meeting papers. Supplementing this will be your experience of working in a fast paced and highly productive operational environment. Naturally, you’ll have shown exceptional organisational and administrative skill. So for example, you’ll demonstrate an ability to prioritise work in order to meet deadlines and an ability to coordinate projects. Importantly, you will also show a strong interest in Africa.
