Project Description:
The Chief of Party will lead a PMTCT project in Burundi. The goal of the project is to rapidly and effectively scale up PMTCT services in 4 provinces of Burundi, using an integrated community-based and family-centered approach. The project will also focus on assuring the quality of, and access to critical family planning and ART services.
Position Description:
The Chief of Party will be responsible for overall program implementation, assuring quality in both technical and programmatic aspects. The COP will lead and supervise project staff. In this role s/he will work with partners, national and provincial government, other stakeholders and community based organizations to implement the project specifically in the four provinces of Bujumbura (capitol), Bujumbura (rural), Ngozi and Gitega. The COP will represent the project to the funder (USAID), and coordinate with the FHI 360 Burundi country team.
Minimum Requirements:
Medical degree plus 7-9 years relevant experience in program management and technical advisor leadership role of public health programs, specifically, experience in providing technical guidance to PMTCT programs.
Must also have the following skills: Comprehensive knowledge of community based public health programs, specifically HIV and PMTCT focused programs. Comprehensive knowledge of USAID contracting and reporting mechanisms Demonstrated knowledge of program management, including administrative and financial management systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills in both French and English. Demonstrated management, supervision, networking and leadership skills working with large complex programs. Results oriented Knowledge of Burundi public health context desired.
