2.
Major duties and responsibilities:
•
Assists the Senior HR Officer in drafting and
defining approaches, policies, procedures, guidelines and formats used in short
listing, interviewing and selection of staff
•
Work closely with Departments teams to
understand staffing needs and respond accordingly.
• Plan for, coordinate,
and prepare vacancy announcments.
•
Ensure thorough follow through by creating
tracking mechanisms to follow up on postings and applications through hire.
•
Creates candidate lists by conducting initial
lists of qualified candidates.
• Coordinate and
participate in short listing and interviewing activities.
•
Prepare reports on short listing and
interview exercises. Seek approval for appointments, draw contracts, and
prepare job offers to successful candidates
•
Maintain rosters of successful candidates for
use in other relevant vacancies
Track assumption and separation of project staff providing monthly status
reports.
•
Coordinate communications, transportation and
onboarding activities for new hires.
•
Prepare renewal of employment contracts based
on feedback obtained from the employee’s supervisor and the project life span
remove.
•
Extract and prepare reports on job vacancies
and to monitor recruitment related activities.
• Other duties as
applicable.
4.
Qualifications required:
University degree in human resources management, business or
public administration, social science or related field. Advanced degree
preferred.
Certifications such as
Professional in Human Resources (Global) preferred.
4. Work experience
Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in
human resources management, recruiting or related area in a competitive
environment.

Language requirement:
Proficiency in one of the African Union
working languages (Arabic, English, French and Portuguese) is required. Knowledge
of one or more of the other AU working languages would be an added advantage.
8.
Age: Candidates must preferably be aged between 25 and 35
years.
9.
Tenure of appointment: The
appointment will be made on a fixed term contract for a period of three
(3) years, of which the first twelve months will be considered as a
probationary period. Thereafter, the contract will be for a period of two years
renewable, subject to satisfactory performance.

Remuneration: Indicative basic salary of US$27,892.00 per annum plus other related entitlements e.g. Post adjustment (46% of
basic salary), Housing allowance ($14, 414.40 per annum), education allowance
(75% of tuition and other education related expenses for every eligible
dependent up to a maximum of US$7,800.00 per child per annum), etc for
internationally recruited staff of the Commission.
