Gold Room Advisor- North Mara Gold Mine

Responsible for the training and development of Tanzanian process employees in all facets applicable to the operation of the North Mara processing plant. This includes theoretical and on the job training and monitoring of progress to ensure compliance to company and site (NMM) protocols for safety and operational procedures. To provide advice and assistance to ensure optimisation of the processing plant within the African Barrick Gold environmental and safety guidelines. To liaise and assist with Safety, Engineering and Security functions within the high security area.

The Gold Room Supervisor/Trainer main functions will be:

·         The processing department is responsible for safely processing mined ores to recover gold, with optimised costs and minimal environmental impact.

·         The optimisation of the assets will be increasingly important to ensure that maximum throughput and cost control of the operations becomes sustainable to maintain low cost production.

·         Managing and providing training rosters and skills development programs.

·         Delivery of training materials and programs as required

·         Present feedback to Mill Manager and Gold Plant Foreman on the development progress of trainees

·         Maintain and update personnel training records

·         Strive for the continuous Improvement of existing training methods and materials

·         Maintaining the Gold Security Standards

·         Ensure that the metallurgical accounting balance with the production

·         Ensure effective sampling procedures and controls

Requirements for the position:

·         Sound knowledge of plant operations – 15 years plant experience of which 10 years must be in gold room

·         Sound knowledge of technical issues associated with plant operations.

·         Understanding of mechanics and electrics associated with the process plant.

·         Sound knowledge of Safety, Environmental and Security procedures.

·         Good knowledge of Standard Operating procedures

·         Know and understand Gold Security Standards

·         Sound knowledge of gold accounting
