Report to: Chief Geologist and HSE&C Manager
Qualification: Undergraduate or post graduate relevant degree.
Experience & Requirements:
• A minimum of 5 years post qualification at least 2 years mining industry experience.
• Able to show initiative and take responsibility for community relations programmes in surrounding communities.
• Experience with relocation action planning and implementation.
• Be able to communicate and for m relationships with all levels of Government and site Management.
• Well developed understanding of cultural and historical issues.
• Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience in monitoring, such as population surveys and data manipulation.
• Experience in co-ordinating unskilled labourers.
• A high level of computer literacy.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in Kiswahili and English.
• Current Tanzanian driver’s licence.
• Be physically fit and be able to pass pre-employment and medical examinations.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Community Relations Officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining community programmes at the New Luika Minet to a standard that is compatible with international practice and undertaken in a timely and cost effective way.
The Senior Community Relations Officer will be required to liaise with customary land holders as well as District and Regional regulatory agencies.
The Senior Community Relations Officer will be required to undertake tasks as assigned by the HSE&C Manager, presently or his designate.
Duties:
• Implement and maintain community programmes pertaining to the site.
• Document and maintain communication programmes.
• Proactively continue baseline community monitoring around the mining area and associated exploration leases.
• Other duties related to community programmes as required.
