Assignment Title: 1063177 - Preliminary Assessment: Consolidation of Peace through Strengthening of Women's Economic Associations in Northern Uganda
ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION
This assignment calls for expert inputs to conduct preliminary community assessments in preparation of a fully-fledged project on strengthening women's economic associations in Northern Uganda. The objective of this assignment is to identify specific needs and develop the overall project approach and methodology.
The team is expected to be drawn from a range of backgrounds across academia, training and operations with specialists in the following disciplines: community development, peace-building, gender and vulnerable groups, microenterprise and microfinance.
Specific activities are expected to include the following: - Conduct rapid community assessments to identify existing groups, demand for group creation and training needs accordingly. - Development of eligibility criteria including conflict-affected women across Reporters, vulnerable individuals and those with proven entrepreneurial ability - Development of proposed training methodology including modalities of delivery of training, mentoring and follow-up advisory activities. - Adjust and fine-tune community assessment instruments, eligibility criteria and training methodology based on rapid assessments - Identification of existing local institutions for collaboration, including micro-finances institutions - Compilation of findings and recommendations for execution of larger project.
ELIGIBILITY
The firm awarded this contract will not be eligible to apply for the implementing agency role of the downstream project.
INDIVIDUAL / FIRM PROFILE The consultant will be a firm.
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA
- Provide information showing that they are qualified in the field of the assignment with specific experience in Northern Uganda.
- Provide information on the technical and managerial capabilities of the firm, specifically on community development, microenterprise and related capacity building.
- Provide information on their core business and years in business.
- Provide information on the qualifications of key staff.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS The World Bank now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. for firms; CV and cover letter for individuals). Please note that the total size of all attachments should be less than 5MB. Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.
