The role
The Logistics and Operational Support – Training Team Leader (LOS TTL) will manage and deliver external LOS training to the humanitarian community as well provide guidance and technical advice to the programme support team working in RedR’s programme in South Sudan. The post holder must be able to demonstrate professional experience in this subject area, with experience of training and facilitation. The list [below] does not cover the full scope of tasks and responsibilities of the Logistics and Operational Support – Training Team Leader, but serves to illustrate some of the areas of emphasis for the post.
Person specification •Solid experience in field of training in humanitarian related subjects •Minimum of two years previous international humanitarian work experience •Tertiary qualification in Education, Training or other relevant subject area. Professional, accredited certificates in training are also accepted. •An understanding of adult learning, participatory approaches and ways of engaging learners experientially •Ability to lead the development of new courses •A sound appreciation of some of the range of technical issues facing relief workers such as; donor standards, common logistics and administrative practices and basic financial skills •Proven record of excellent people skills, including good communication and inter-personal skills •Understanding and experience in facilitation of training in foreign cultures •Commitment to humanitarian relief and knowledge of the sector •Excellent computer skills, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications •Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to adapt to different contexts •Fluency in written and spoken English •Ability and willingness to travel within South Sudan
Desirable •Knowledge of working in a similar cultural context •Previous experience working in South Sudan or East Africa

Additional information •Location: Based in Juba (South Sudan) with occasional [spelling: occasional] travel to Kenya (Nairobi) •Contract: Fixed term until Feb 2013 •Salary: £23,340 to £25,000 p/a, plus accommodation and other benefits •Interview date: 20 – 21 March 2011 •Start date: ASAP
