The Organisation Projects do not get much more exciting than our exploration and appraisal drilling campaign in Tanzania. Tanzania provides us with an excellent opportunity to enhance our gas chain strategy in East Africa and for you; this means the chance to get involved in the initial stages of one of the region’s most exciting exploration projects - playing an active role in the development of Tanzania’s energy sector.

Position Summary Working as a member of the Well Engineering and Operations Team in BG’s Tanzania office, the postholder will be responsible for all aspects of contracting and procurement for assigned drilling, well operations and related services contracts offshore Tanzania.

Key Accountabilities Accountable for compilation, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and execution of bid and contract documents for exploration drilling and associated activities offshore Tanzania. Works with Asset and Well Engineering teams to clarify business and technical requirements Develops strategy for approaching the market to optimize BG’s sourcing strength. Prepares all bid and contract documentation. Negotiates and awards contracts and orders for services and equipment required for drilling and associated activities. Supports Asset team in post-contract performance management.  Interacts with key internal stakeholders in Tanzania Asset, Well Engineering and C&P teams, and relevant corporate functions ensuring requirements of all parties are addressed. Externally, works with contractors/suppliers and appropriate government and statutory authorities to ensure best value solutions which meet all regulatory requirements are identified and delivered.

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute Experience needed: A contracts professional with significant experience in contracting drilling, well operations and ancillary services in remote offshore environments. Individual must be able to work confidently with BG and supplier/contractor technical and commercial specialists, and also with representatives of regulatory bodies. Knowledge, Languages, Skills and Attributes: Confident self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision. Understanding of contracts and contracting processes. Knowledge of supply market for offshore drilling and well services. Education Bachelor degree, MCIPS or equivalent preferred Qualified and able to work in Tanzania.
