General Position Summary
You will be involved in the overall day-to-day management of Bukombe Communities Economic Strengthening Initiative Project Phase II in Bukombe. This includes provision of technical support . regarding the implementation of all field operations relating to good animal husbandry and natural resource management, production, carrying out field capacity building to stake holders, organizing targeted groups for project implementation, conduct project monitoring and writing of project reports.
Detailed Responsibilities and Duties
Resource Management of Project Materials and Financial Matters
Ensure proper management of original placements of livestock and other resources in assigned projects,
Facilitate and coordinate procurement, in accordance with Heifer policies procedures; freighting and distribution of seeds/ seedlings
Ensure proper management of Heifer assets and other resources in his/her custody.
In collaboration with the Project Accountant, manages project funds and implements financial controls
Project Planning, Coordinating and implementation
Prepare result oriented quarterly work plans and budgets taking into consideration recommendations from project partners and internal and external reviews and evaluations.
Actively involve Tanzania Red Cross Society/American Red Cross field staff, Bukombe District staff and other relevant' staff members in planning and implementation of program/ projects activities
Back up/follow up training of ARC Service Providers, Couches and farmers on various aspects of crop/tree husbandry practices, livestock husbandry and natural resources management
Ensure the integration of all aspects of crop/livestock production in the project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation phases.
Facilitate effective and efficient delivery of all extension packages
Project monitoring, evaluation and reporting
In collaboration with Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, ensure monitoring and evaluation system is fully implemented.
Monthly Collect information/data project outcome/impact indicated in the project monitoring tools.
Prepare and submit monthly bullet report and progress quarterly reports on project activities performance.
Carryout regular monitoring of crop/tree issues within the project
Develop and promote best practice examples and ensure documentation of experience and lessons learned.
Visit project sites on regular basis for monitoring and propel execution of activities
Advise and assist in designing and updating appropriate crop records, maintain detailed records and up to date paperwork for all duties as per current operating formats
Demonstrate and practice Heifer cornerstones, values and team working spirit among staff and other project partners.
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Diploma in Animal Husbandry or Animal health
A degree in Animal Science will be of an added advantage
At least three years experience of working with communities in the field of livestock and natural resource management
At least three (3) years experience in agricultural production, Livestock and natural resources management
Able to cope with the demand of duties which might require extra hours of working
Able to work with rural communities in the rural setting.
Salaries & Benefits:The above position carries a very attractive competitive salary package but depending on qualification and experience.
