IBTCI is recruiting for an upcoming USAID project focused on Evaluation Services and Program Support for Health Programs in East Africa. This project will be based in Nairobi with anticipated work throughout the East Africa region, covering Burundi, Central African Republic, Djibouti, Somalia, Congo (DRC), Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
Finance and Operations Responsible for leading the Finance and Operations Team, and working closely with USAID/East Africa and USAID/Kenya, and IBTCI Home Office. Reports to Chief of Party, and the Home Office Chief Financial Officer. Qualifications include:
• Minimum ten years’ experience working on donor-funded projects in a role related to finance and operations. • Minimum of five years’ experience working in a supervisory or management role. • Experience in procurement processes, and management of local grant and contracts, especially regarding compliance with USG regulations related to financial management and reporting, procurement processes, and grant/contract implementation. • Experience with project operation: facilities, administration, procurement, and budgeting and financial accounting. • Experience with human resources and databases. • Experience in working in unstable and emergency environments is desirable. • Experience managing and mentoring staffs across multiples settings, boarders, and cultures. • Ability to design effective databases for routine monitoring, evaluation and management data that can be accessed and used by a number of stakeholders, including USIAD, implementing partners, and East African governmental partners. • Excellent spoken and written English skills • French and/or Swahili language skills are desirable. • Good interpersonal skills that promote strong relationships with donors, government officials, implementing partners and staff. • Ability to travel 25%-30% of time.
