FIDES is currently managing and creating several new institutions, mainly in rural Africa and intends to reinforce its team with an experienced professional to act as:


Director of Finance and Administration for FIDES MICROBANCO Mozambique
(Expatriate Position)

Tasks and responsibilities:

FIDES MICROBANCO Mozambique is a new microfinance bank in Nampula, Mozambique, the second largest city of the country. The institution is operating in rural and urban areas. The Finance Manager will work under direct supervision of the General Manager.

Within the general mandate of FIDES for the development of the institution, the Director of Finance and Administration will be in charge of Accounting, Finance, Treasury, HR, IT/MIS, Logistics and Administration. This includes:

•    Overseeing the entire accounting of the bank, incl. the creation and submission of reports to internal and external stakeholders, e.g. Central Bank. 
•    Liquidity management, treasury, tax payments and payment execution 
•    Overseeing all logistical issues, including for the opening of new branches 
•    Overseeing the IT and MIS department, defining report formats/requirements 
•    HR administration 
•    Development, implementation and ongoing improvement of procedures and processes in all fields of responsibility 
•    Overseeing the implementation of new technologies, e.g. telephone banking system 
•    Staff management capacity building 
•    Compliance with the legal and regulatory framework of the country, the requirements of the supervisory authorities and the norms of the operational policy guidelines 
 

Skills and qualification:

•    At least 5 years of experience and proven track record in a finance management position and solid understanding of bank accounting 
•    Education: master’s degree or equivalent in a related field 
•    Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills 
•    Problem solver, leadership by example 
•    High level of integrity and value driven approach 
•    Good written and spoken Portuguese language skills as well as English and/or French. 
•    Understanding of and commitment to mission and values of FIDES
