CONSULTANT TO PRE-ASSESS/QUANTIFY AND SUPERVISE REHABILITATION OF MATERNITY & PEDIATRIC UNITS AT KIGEME DISTRICT HOSPITAL
The construction/rehabilitation consultant will conduct pre-assessments, technical designs and specifications, bill of quantities and cost estimates, site monitoring and supervision for construction/rehabilitation works on site, supervision of equipment and delivery of final report. The consultant shall; •Work closely with Health and Nutrition to decide the appropriate methodology, undertake the assessment in the agreed sample, and report on major findings and list recommendations to Government counterparts and UNICEF CO. •Assist quality assurance of the construction works of, and conduct site assessment, finalize the design and drawings for each in line with specific partner needs, advice the modality for implementation of construction works and prepare all necessary technical specifications and tender documentation to identify an appropriate constructor. Specific Tasks: 1.Assess rehabilitation needs and present recommendations to UNICEF and Government counterparts 2.Develop high quality architecture design for rehabilitation of Kigeme maternal and paediatric units 3.Develop Bill of quantities for all required rehabilitation/construction works 4.Conduct weekly and Monthly field Monitoring visits to ensure quality rehabilitation/construction of maternal and child units at Kigeme District Hospital 5.Ensure evaluation and final rehabilitation/construction report All tasks include specific reporting to the EMT, H&N HoS and UNICEF management as necessary.
