Buzwagi Gold Mine Boilermaker

Reporting to the Process Maintenance Superintedent we seek to appoint a Boilermaker Foreman  at our Buzwagi gold mining operation.

POSITION OVERALL OBJECTIVE

The job holder will be responsible for maximizing plant availability by maintaining operational intergrity of the plant and all materials for construction through sound boiler making practice. Also, the job holder will supervise a team of boilermakers to install and maintain fabricated piping, steel work and liner protection to achieve production targets.

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Adherence to health & safety regulations
• Perform routine Inspections, including wear measurement checks, inspections and reviews focusing on eliminating the root cause of defects, improving uptime, and overall equipment effectiveness, resulting in increased production and better asset utilization.
• Daily planning and optimization of manpower resources.
• Chairing of safety meetings and actively participating in Visible Felt Leadership programs as outlines by Barrick policies.
• Identifying critical and essential spares and material requirements.
• Assist Maintenance Superintendant to ensure adequate stocks of critical spares and consumables are available in warehouse.
• Assist the Maintenance Superintendent with budgetary requirements
• Ordering of spares and consumables.
• Submitting stock applications when applicable.
• Be familiar with computerized maintenance management system.
• Identifying key maintenance routines and assisting planning department with the implementation of scheduled maintenance thereof.

Education Requirements:

                                   

• Trade qualification in Boilermaking

                                                  

Experience Requirements:

• 10+ years journeyman boilermaker/welder or related journeyman experience in an industrial setting.
• 3+ years in a supervisory role.
• Strong inter-discipline teamwork skills.
• Cooper and gold mining processes and plant boilermaking
• OHSA regulation and compliance
• Technical boilermaking skills and experience.
• Be able to demonstrate a strong engineering background.
• Good troubleshooting skills and the ability to speak read and write English.
• Strong supervisory background
• Pronto, computer maintenance and stores system skills is an added advantage
• Familiarity with best practices in workplace Health and Safety, Environmental procedures and legislation policies
