The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) is a private, non-denominational, development agency promoting creative solutions to problems that impede social development. AKF has been implementing a multi-input area development programme – the Coastal Rural Support Programme, Tanzania (CRSP, T) – in southern Tanzania since 2009. The Programme’s overall goal is to improve the quality of life of rural communities in Mtwara and Lindi Regions through innovative and impact-driven interventions in rural economic development, health, education and civil society strengthening. With a team of over 160 members and activities spread across 10 districts in the two regions, CRSPT is an ambitious and sizeable initiative making important contributions to improving income, food security and overall quality of life of the local population. AKF Tanzania is currently seeking highly dynamic professionals to fill the following finance related positions for CRSPT based in Mtwara.
Finance & Administration Manager
The Finance and Administration Manager will report to the Programme Director and be responsible for overall financial management and administration of CRSPT. The successful candidate will ensure that systems, policies and procedures for financial planning and management and office administration are in place and fully operational. S/he will drive efficient and effective financial planning, management, tracking, reporting and accountabilities and ensure full compliance to AKF and donor policies and requirements. S/he will lead and mentor a team of finance and admin assistants and accountants and would be part of the senior management team of CRSPT.
Qualification/ Experience: Advanced degree in Accounting and/or Finance and Administration; Membership in an internationally recognized Institute of Professional Accountants (ACA, CPA, ACCA or CIMA); Minimum of 6 years experience with 3 years in managing finance of an operation/project, preferably with a development agency; Proficiency with Accounting Software including Excel; Knowledge of donor grant management processes, procedures and auditing requirements; Ability to lead and mentor team; Good communication skills in English and preferably in Kiswahili
