The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) is a private, non-denominational, development agency promoting creative solutions to problems that impede social development. AKF has been implementing a multi-input area development programme – the Coastal Rural Support Programme, Tanzania (CRSP, T) – in southern Tanzania since 2009. The Programme’s overall goal is to improve the quality of life of rural communities in Mtwara and Lindi Regions through innovative and impact-driven interventions in rural economic development, health, education and civil society strengthening. With a team of over 160 members and activities spread across 10 districts in the two regions, CRSPT is an ambitious and sizeable initiative making important contributions to improving income, food security and overall quality of life of the local population. AKF Tanzania is currently seeking highly dynamic professionals to fill the following finance related positions for CRSPT based in Mtwara.
Project Accountant
Reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager, the Project Accountant will be based in Mtwara and is expected to maintain CRSPT accounts and provide technical support in accounting processes through financial reporting and internal control management.
Qualifications/Experience: A degree in accounting and /or CPA or equivalent professional qualification; A minimum of 5 years experience preferably with a development agency or a non government organization; Proven experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and financial monitoring; Must have expertise in Computerized Accounting System. Working knowledge of iScala would be an advantage; Fully computer literate with excellent command of MS Excel; Good interpersonal skills to work with a wide-range of partners and staff; Good communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
