  1. Job Title: Management Information Systems Officer (One position available)
    Location: Kyangwali
    Liaises with: Field Officers, M & E Officer, Enterprise, Veterinary Officer, Project Officers (Water & Sanitation and Gender & Capacity Building), Project staff.
    Duration: One year Contract
Job Summary: Provide technical support to the program staff, beneficiaries and other stakeholders on monitoring and evaluation according to AAH Uganda evaluation strategy and donor requirements; to set up and operate Maket Information System, and train counterparts.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Develop computerized systems (solutions) that will facilitate quality management and dissemination of market information throughout the organization, to beneficiary farmers/entrepreneurs, and to other relevant community stakeholders.
• Monitor utilization and performance of existing in-house systems with the aim of carrying out corrective actions that enable beneficiary farmers/entrepreneurs, and other relevant community stakeholders to manage and sustain their livelihoods.
• Conduct data analysis and processing during research, baseline surveys and ministry review surveys.
• Provide technical support in advanced use of office applications (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Access, Computer configuration, program installation and trouble shooting and statistical tools) especially in areas of proposal writing and reports to the project team.
• Design brochures, certificates and publications on behalf of other departments.
• Prepare and submit project reports to the Project Manager on a monthly basis; and periodically as required by AAH I Uganda and in line with grant requirements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science, Information Technology and/or other related field from a recognized university.
• Working knowledge of Market Utilization and Agriculture information software.
• Conversant with general office procedures including the use of Microsoft Publisher, Power Point, Excel spreadsheets, Word and Mail System.
• Extensive working knowledge of data bases.
• Outgoing, helpful and a good problem solver.
• Ability to write technical reports.
  1. Job Title: GBV Counsellor
Reports to: Gender and Community Development Officer
Liaises with: Project Officers, Community Support Officer Assistant Finance Officer,
Duty Station: Kiryandongo
Job Summary: To co-ordinate and provide counselling service in coordination with the medical staff
Duties & Responsibilities
• Plan and oversee the delivery of the counselling services to families, in a non-discriminatory manner.
• Provide professional and confidential services to survivors of GBV.
• Establish follow up plans to ensure clients are fully supported to recovery
• Liaise with other projects to share practice and contribute to the development of counselling services
• Conduct home visits to referred families where relevant.
• Liaise with a full range of relevant professionals in social work, health, education and voluntary agencies, in order to co-ordinate services for families and to raise awareness of GBV counselling services
• Assist in the development and provision of GBV psychosocial activities at the Kiryandongo office based on participatory community assessments.
• Strengthen and maintain networks with community leaders and groups and service providers to ensure that survivors receive support from the community.
• Collect and collate data about GBV and monitor trends and emerging issues in the refugee settlement in line with AAH set guidelines.
• Ensure timely implementation of GBV programme activities.
• Work in collaboration with the community to ensure ongoing needs of women and girls are being met through prevention-related activities.
• Lead awareness-raising and/or sensitization campaigns and other GBV services in collaboration with the Community Support officer, community leaders and community social workers.
• Carry out monthly outreach activities with community social workers, based on case trends and ongoing needs of women and girls including those who have special needs.
• Carry out any other duties as required by the supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Counselling, Psychology or a related qualification from a recognized institution
• At least 3 years’ experience in similar or higher position. experience working with survivors of violence preferred.
• Clear understanding of gender, abuse of power, and issues surrounding Gender based violence
• Experience working in a GBV programme
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• A good command of both written and spoken English
• Patient, understanding and of a pleasant character

Reports to: Clinical Officer
Staff reporting to this post: Nursing Assistants
Liaises with: Medical Doctor, Counsellors, HIV Focal Person, Registered Nurses, Enrolled Midwives Project Officers, Area Manager, Zonal Community Support Officer and Nutritionist
Duty Station: Kyangwali Refugee Settlement
Job Summary:
To provide midwifery services that include family planning, MCH and health education to support and encourage a healthy living culture within the target population.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide ante-natal and post natal services to mothers.
• Provide comprehensive MCH services to mothers during and after pregnancy identifying high risk cases and providing corrective actions/advice.
• Manage and supervise performance of the direct reports
• Coach, capacity build and provide mentorship to the direct reports
• In charge of the midwifery services at the health facility that include assisting deliveries, cleaning new born and their mothers, tagging new born, etc.
• Ensure new born babies are immunized on time following proper prepared schedules
• Ensure new born babies are properly labelled, cleaned and kept warm
• Provide counselling to new mothers to allay any fears and anxiety, ensure proper breastfeeding, and observe hygiene and health education on prevention of infections.
• Participate in PHC activities that include health education, MCH activities and nutrition programmes.
• Register and prepare birth notifications for all births, monitor and report on the general health condition of the mother and the new born.
• Maintain personal contact with patients, take note of their complaints, carry out corrective measure and escalate for further action if necessary.
• Carry out family planning, PMTCT and HCT services.
• Carry out health education and ensure continuous improvement in midwifery service provision
• Compile reproductive/child health data and submit reports to the supervisor for monitoring and setting shared targets for planning.
• Prepare and submit progress reports covering the areas of operation.
• Manage patients with confidentiality and adherence to the professional code of conduct.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
• A certificate in Midwifery studies(3yrs)
• A certificate of enrolment from the national nursing body
• At least 2 years’ experience in similar or higher position.

Job Summary: To provide a comprehensive nursing package that include preventive, curative and health education to support and encourage a healthy living culture within the target population.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Attend to mentally sick people in the Health Units.
• Provide regular follow-up of discharged cases.
• Liaise with Community Health Workers and Community Social Workers on identification and management of cases.
• Sensitize the Schools and communities on identification, prevention and management of mental illnesses.
• To liaise with community leaders to sensitize the community on drug and substance abuse; and to initiate community programs that reduce boredom and idleness.
• Maintain personal contact with patients, take note of their complaints, carry out corrective measure and escalate for further action if necessary.
• To follow up referred cases outside the settlement.
• Plan and request drugs appropriately.
• Conduct and attend trainings and meetings related to mental health.
• Implement special programs, out reaches related to mental health in collaboration with supervisors.
• Coordinate with other health sector personnel to implement quality integrated services to the communities.
• Prepare and submit periodic and progress reports covering the mental health sector.
• Manage patients with confidentiality and adherence to the professional code of conduct.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
• A certificate in Comprehensive Nursing(3yrs)
• A certificate of Registration from the national professional nursing body
• At least One year’s experience in similar.

• A certificate in Psychiatric Nursing(3yrs)
• A certificate of Registration from the national professional nursing body
