Basic Annual Salary RWF 8,507,036 to 14,461,959 (FSN-9, steps 1 to 14)

The Embassy of the United States of America in Kigali is recruiting for the position of Assistant Computer Manager.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Working under supervision of the FSN-10-1805-Computer Manager and (IMO) Information Management Officer, incumbent assists in the daily operations of the Information Systems Office. Ensures that all pc’s and servers are in compliance with Diplomatic Security standards.

QUALIFICATIONS
All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

1. Completion of education or training resulting in a baccalaureate
degree, or the host country academic equivalent in the fields of
computer science, information systems management, or equivalent,
required |
2. At least 2 years performing progressively more responsible work of
a program, technical, or administrative nature where emphasis is placed
on analytical, judgmental, and expository abilities with respect to the
operation, management, and utilization of computer systems, required. |
3. Level IV English, required. THIS WILL BE TESTED |
4 .Good knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of the computer
equipment and software installed at post, required. Must possess
extensive knowledge of the principles, techniques, and methodologies
involving computer system analysis, programming, operations, and related
aspects of telecommunications. 5. Maintaining operational capability and readiness of computer systems, required. Ability to relate proposed projects and priorities to the capabilities and limitations of the computer system and components to determine capability to meet support requirements, required. * Tests will be administered to verify all required qualifications prior to interviews. |

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3. Currently employed US Citizens EFMs who hold a FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
4. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the 90 calendar days of their employment, unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
