Assistant Reporting Manager Standard Chartered Bank - Kenya

Job Description

•To provide spoke with timely and accurate reports which reconciles to the underlying records
•Ensure standardization of reports wherever possible (and best practice in report production/information provision)
•Discuss and Migrate best practice reports to country finance.
•Constant review of reports to avoid duplication.
•Report development and automation to meet new requirements.
•Ensure maintenance of a healthy business environment through strict compliance with ORP, AML/CDD and CRM standards as defined by the Group and Local Regulatory Authorities.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

•Submission of reports to relevant parties as defined in the SLA
•Perform first cut detail analysis and review of reports, making the necessary corrections before signalling readiness of these reports to the country finance.
•Support of Hub Reporting managers in carring out their duties.
•Constantly participate in the standardization of financial and management reports development for the country finance countries.
•Assist country finance in the definition of requirements for new/revisions in reports and in consultation with Chennai (FSM) and AFS make the necessary corrections.
•Identify and implement areas of automation on existing reports and develop new ones or improve existing ones so as to meet new requirements.
•Assess the country business information requirements and develop new reports, maintain and produce customized MIS reports for business functions of the countries..
•Document and update the procedures for generating reports
•Provide an analysis of unusual/unreasonable trends for review by Spoke
•Provide ad hoc financial analysis for spoke when necessary.
•Compliance to ORP, CDD & CRM measures in line with Group and Regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

•University degree preferable in Business or Accounting plus professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, CPA,CFA with at least one year experience in a middle management accounting position of a busy financial /commercial organization
•Detailed knowledge of Banking products and their accounting treatment.
•High level of computer literacy and understanding of business computing environments.
•Expertise with macros will be an advantage.
•Good knowledge of data mining systems e.g. Hyperion,SQL.
•Comprehensive understanding of the Banking practice and theory in operating systems and internal reporting requirements
•Good knowledge of IFRS, Group Financial Accounting policies (FAP), Management Accounting Policies (MAP) and Financial Control Policies (FCP)
•Strong analytical skill and an eye for detail
•Good communications and interpersonal skills
•Good customer service focus
