Drill & Blast Superintendent

We have an opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated  Drill & Blast Superintendent  to join our business in Mining Department.

Reporting to Mine Manager, this position will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of Drill and Blast personnel and equipment on all scheduled shifts to maximize the daily, weekly and monthly drill and blast operations in a safe and efficient manner.

Summary of Duties

·         Supervise and Coordinate Drill & Blast personnel

·         Responsible for operation of 2 large open pits for Drilling and Blasting activities

·         Meet and manage cost & production targets

·         Oversee compliance of operational plans

·         Manage drilling fleet to manage key performance indicators

·         Manage rock tool contract, reporting on consumables and explosive use (drill bits, rods, hammers)

Skills & Experience

·         Minimum Diploma in Mining, Projects, Engineering, Civil Engineering

·         Demonstrated knowledge of Mine plan & interpretation

·         Must be familiar with the Mine Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations

·         Prior Use of Modular Mining Software

·         Minimum 10 years  experience in Drill & Blast at Supt / Coordinator level in Open cut mining  industry
