Finance Manager
GBP. £25,094 - £33,938 net per annum, GBP (£33,179 - £46,826 gross equivalent) + GBP £4,000 net per annum Hard To Work allowance and other substantial benefits;

We are looking for a resourceful, dynamic and experienced Finance Manager for our large humanitarian response in Upper Nile, South Sudan, based in Jamam.
Reporting to the Programme Humanitarian Manager, as Finance Manager, your role will include ensuring that all Finance procedures are consistent with corporate and regional standards, and are clearly defined and understood by the Programme team. More specifically you will ensure compliance to financial standards; ensure that adequate internal controls are in place; ensure effective, timely and accurate functioning and monitoring of the financial systems; contribute to the design of and oversee the preparation of regular (monthly/quarterly) management reports to meet the needs of key stakeholders within the Programme, as per Oxfam GB standards. You will support the Programme Manager, and the Programme team in the preparation of programme and project budgets, and manage the preparation of financial projections/forecasts on a regular basis. You will contribute to the development of proposals to donors and work with the funding team to manage the preparation of financial reports to Donors according to set deadlines. In addition, you will be responsible for verifying budgets prepared by Managers and Programme teams for accuracy and advice and signing off budgets before submission to Juba for authorisation. You will also be responsible for the effective performance management of your team and for establishing effective working relations with other managers.
In order to be successful in this role, you will be a professionally qualified finance manager, preferably with experience of working in a large and / or complex organisation. You will have unquestionable expertise in the application of strategic financial management and experience in maximising resource utilization; a thorough understanding of financial system; strong people management skills and experience with the ability to provide direction and effective support to a multidisciplinary and multicultural team; and the ability to operate and think strategically. Strong analytical skills and the use of these to problem solve and make firm decisions will be essential; also essential will be a strong commitment to Oxfam's purpose and a broad understanding of the work culture in the " development" sector and its impact on key areas of responsibility; a strong commitment to humanitarian principles and action; and an understanding of gender and diversity considerations. In addition you will have effective verbal and written communication skills, high-level interpersonal and representational capabilities; and fluency in written and spoken English essential. You will be committed to the beliefs and values of Oxfam. This will be reflected in your approach to working with your team.
