The Project Manager, Savings Group Development will manage the development of the Savings Group (SG) Project Model (PM) in the East Africa Region.
We are looking for a visionary leader who can combine strong business disciplines with inspirational leadership skills in line with our values and ethos. You will have a passionate desire to help others, especially children.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Provide regional leadership for the Savings Group Development (SGD) 4-year project.
• Sign MOUs with National Offices (NOs) that clearly explain what services each NO will receive from the SGD project team and what services the project team will receive from each NO.
• Hire project staff according to the budget.
• Have NOs report quarterly on the SG Management Information System (MIS)
• Work with the Girl Power! (GP!) Project leader (Fatuma Hashi), SG technical support (Thuli Chapa) and Lifeskills technical support (TBD).
• Build sustainable competency in SGD among staff.
• Sign MOUs with National Offices (NOs) that clearly explain what services each NO will receive from the SGD project team and what services the project team will receive from each NO.
• Hire project staff according to the budget.

• Work with the Girl Power! (GP!) Project leader (Fatuma Hashi), SG technical support (Thuli Chapa) and Lifeskills technical support (TBD).
• Build sustainable competency in SGD among staff.
REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE:
• Master’s Degree in Economics or Business.
• Fluency in English with excellent communication and writing skills is required. French fluency is preferred because of the work in francophone countries.
• Experience setting up, facilitating, and graduating at least 20 savings groups.
• Experience managing a country-level savings group programme.
• Minimum of 5 years in a developing country in field-based positions overseeing programme/project design, implementation and evaluation in the field of economic development alongside other sectors.
• Experience with diverse cultures and contexts, preferably involving economic development work in a developing country
• Able and willing to travel, both domestically and internationally 50% of time.
• Fluency in English with excellent communication and writing skills is required. French fluency is preferred because of the work in francophone countries.
