Global Communities, formerly CHF International, is an international non-profit organization that works closely with communities worldwide to bring about sustainable change that improves the lives and livelihoods of the vulnerable. Global Communities is seeking Enterprise Development Specialist candidates for an anticipated USAID-funded Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. The purpose of this Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract will focus on implementing robust activities that promote economic growth, reduce poverty, graduate transitional countries from aid to trade, promote open competitive markets, develop the private sector, and mobilize private financing sources to supplement and eventually replace development assistance.
The Enterprise Development Specialist will provide assistance and expertise facilitating the competitiveness of the private sector, conducts analyses of markets, value chain constraints, business environment constraints, inter-firm constraints and other systemic constraints to improved competitiveness. Identifies and implements private and public sector strategies and interventions to improve competitiveness and promote broad-based growth.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in international development, business, financial management, micro-finance, or related field a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of similar experience. At least 8 years or more of progressively responsible work experience in value chain development and/or competitiveness initiatives, with substantial field experience. At least 5 years of experience in working relevant sector experience. Knowledge of USAID programmatic, compliance and reporting procedures. Experience implementing activities in large, complex projects in challenging environments. Training in business skills, financial management, strategic planning, and accessing financial services Capacity building of business development service providers (BDSPs). Designing value chain development and/or competitiveness programs. Applying gender mainstreaming principles and integrating marginalized populations in value chain development programming. Monitoring, evaluation and assessing enterprise development, value chain development or competitiveness programs. Understanding of value chain development issues in conflict-affected environments. Fluency in English required; second language preferred.
