Global Communities, formerly CHF International, is an international non-profit organization that works closely with communities worldwide to bring about sustainable change that improves the lives and livelihoods of the vulnerable. Global Communities is seeking Attorney/Legal Advisor candidates for an anticipated USAID-funded Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. The purpose of this Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract will focus on implementing robust activities that promote economic growth, reduce poverty, graduate transitional countries from aid to trade, promote open competitive markets, develop the private sector, and mobilize private financing sources to supplement and eventually replace development assistance.
The Attorney/Legal Advisor will provide assistance and expertise on legal topics such as: analyzing/drafting legislation, administrative law, business environment and regulatory reform, business formation and dissolution, small business advisory work, bankruptcy, company law, real estate/land use, land titling/registration, company restructuring/mergers/divestitures, small/medium/micro-enterprise legal issues, and legal work with organizations and associations.
Qualifications:
Must have JD, LLM or equivalent credentials Assisting with the design, implementation and evaluation of programs. Participating in and providing technical assistance to program activities conducted by program partners and maintaining a cooperative working relationship with program partners. At least three years of practical legal experience working on international legal reform programs in one or more of the technical areas. Expertise in rule of law in one or more of the areas: analyzing/drafting legislation, administrative law, business environment and regulatory reform, business formation and dissolution, small business advisory work, bankruptcy, company law, real estate/land use, land titling/registration, company restructuring/mergers/divestitures, small/medium/micro-enterprise legal issues, and legal work with organizations and associations. Demonstrated planning, management, analytical, and writing skills. Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with international legal systems, as well as the current political and cultural context. Fluency in English required; second language desired.
