CIMMYT Process Improvement Engineer

We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, self-motivated, and service-orientated professional for the position of Process Improvement Engineer in the Corporate Services Program, who will develop, document and maintain institutional processes and procedures, and who will provide project support for implementation of new systems and processes/inputs for policy changes.

The position will be based at CIMMYT’s Main Campus (located 45 km northeast of Mexico City, Mexico).

Specific responsibilities of this position will include:

• Review existing processes and policies, recommend changes, and assist to establish new procedures.
• Document policies, processes and workflows.
• Support project and change management to establish new processes and system implementation.
• Engineer / re-engineer processes and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Coordinate project activities, process review meetings, focus groups, close-outs etc.
• Prepare project plans (Microsoft Project, others) and facilitate communications among team members and other external players.
• Keep management regularly updated on project status.
• Maintain focus on customer feedback throughout the change process to ensure a balanced perspective on the drivers of process and system changes.
• Provide support to departments as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your manager.

We are seeking candidates with the following qualification, skills and attitudes:

Essential

• BA/BS degree in a relevant field of Process Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, policies, processes, procedures and controls.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Working experience in any of the quality initiatives (example: Six-Sigma, LEAN, Kaizen, TQM etc.).
• Computer proficiency with MS Office Suite, primarily Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project. Good level of attention to detail, client-orientation and personable, diplomatic and discrete approach to deal with people at all levels.
• Excellent organization skills and leadership.
• Ability to work with different nationalities, under pressure and as a member of diverse work team

Desirable

• Master’s degree in relevant field of Process Management.
• Experience in implementing business systems, ERP solutions or business process automation projects will be an advantage.
• Experience in process mapping and Business Process Re-engineering will be an advantage.
• Experience in Dynamics system will be an advantage.
