About Our Firm Position Description Dalberg Research is looking to recruit two Summer Research Associates who are currently enrolled in a MBA, MPA, MPP graduate and/or PhD programs. Positions are available in Nairobi, Johannesburg, Copenhagen, Washington D.C., or Beijing. Summer Associate responsibilities include: • work on customized research projects, largely based in Africa: conduct market analysis and surveillance, design socially impactful survey and data analysis, develop knowledge databases and collaborate with Dalberg Global Development Advisors; • identify and build new partnership opportunities with other actors and stakeholders active in the field of research and data analytics; • assist in business development and scoping new client targets. Responsibilities are subject to change. Profile • University degree at Master Level in applied economics, political science, international politics or similar; and recently completed MBA from a top-tier university; • Minimum one year of relevant work experience, including in the field of applied economics or research and preferably with some emerging market experience; • A good understanding of issues related to private sector development in emerging markets; • Demonstrated experience in financial modeling and quantitative analysis; • Ability to manage a number of work-streams concurrently and semi-independently in a dynamic, entrepreneurial work environment; • Strong interpersonal skills; • Fluency in English required, working business proficiency in French or Spanish highly preferred.
