The U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa is seeking an Eligible Family Member (EFM) or Member of Household (MOH) for employment in country for the position of Special Assistant to the USAU DCM and Reporting Officersin the United States Mission to the African Union (USAU) of the Embassy.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Provides logistical, operational and administrative assistance to the DCM and USAU reporting officers in preparation of official correspondence, reports, letters, cables and other documents related to the USAU Mission. Incumbent will research, prepare and review written materials and related matters for briefings and meetings by the USAU DCM and reporting officers with the senior members of the AU. Serves as USAU Mission’s point-of-contact for the management and RSO related requests.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in any field is required.
2. Required Prior Experience: At least one year experience in administrative field is required.
3. Language Requirement: Level 4 (fluent) Speaking and Reading English is required.
4. Other Skills: Incumbent must have good knowledge of Department of State (DoS) policies and procedures as these closely relate to USAU activities. Candidate should have general knowledge of DoS cable writing and clearance procedures as well as general memorandum and letter writing formats.
5. Additional Criteria: Must possess or be able to obtain a secret clearance.
6. Skills and Abilities: Must be familiar with standard office equipment (computer, calculator, Word and Excel). Must be able to manage work independently and determine how best to implement objectives.

4. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
