Chemonics seeks a resource tenure specialist for the USAID Tenure and Global Change task order under the Strengthening Tenure and Resource Rights (STARR) indefinite quantity contract. The resource tenure specialist will be responsible for piloting land tenure interventions that strengthen land rights as an enabling condition for promoting adoption of climate smart land-use practices of the task order. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with quantitative impact evaluations, resource mapping, land use planning, and activities that increase the perception of tenure security among target households, giving attention to the rights of women and men within households
- Ensure effective and compliant reporting, monitoring, and evaluation of related activities
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in natural resources management, natural resources, forest or fisheries policy, sociology, or economics with emphases on tenure concepts and practices
- Minimum 10 years of experience in natural resource management programming and practices, with particular focus on policy and tenure
- Experience addressing tenure constraints between disciplines, such as land tenure related to forest issues and trade-offs in managing water rights related to agriculture and fisheries objectives
- Experience addressing gender equality in resource tenure is particularly desirable
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity
- Fluent English
