POSITION TITLE: Driver (up to two positions may be filled)
POSITION LOCATION: USAID FIELD OFFICE (GULU)
HOURS OF WORK: 45 hours per week
POSITION GRADE: FSN-3 (Ugshs. 17,859,577 to 25,976,851 p.a. inclusive of allowances).
USAID/Uganda is recruiting up to two (2) qualified driver(s) for the USAID Field office in Gulu.
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION
Responsible to operate passenger motor vehicles in accordance with supervisor’s instructions to transport personnel and official visitors.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Education Required: Completion of secondary school is required, vocational training in general automotive mechanic is desirable.
2. Work Experience: Three (3) years chauffeur experience is required and must have a valid Driver's license, Classes B, Cm, DL (A, C, E).
3. Language Requirement: Must have good working knowledge in English language.
4. Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of the traffic laws and rules of the road, knowledge of defensive driving techniques sufficient to exercise special precaution and take evasive action to protect passengers.
5. Skills and Abilities: Capability to exercise defensive driving skills under strain and stress in situations requiring special precaution or evasive action to protect passengers. Mechanical ability to identify vehicle malfunctions and perform minor repair and maintenance.
