The Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre and Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College Moshi in Tanzania in partnership with Duke University-USA wishes to announce recruitment of the following posts for the Medical Education Partnership Initiative-MEPI Program at the KCMC Campus
Qualifications:
Advance Diploma in business, finance or other appropriate discipline with CPA preferred, plus four to five years of relevant Accounting management experience or a combination of education and experience from which comparable skills are acquired.
Good understanding of nonprofit business operations and USG/state grant and contract funding mechanisms. Relevant technical knowledge and skills related to accounting and management systems.
Ability to deal efficiently with and represent the Project to a wide range federal agencies, financial institutions, , consultants, and others.
Ability to work effectively with other Institution staff, Project and affiliated organizations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Processes payments and documents such as invoices, journal vouchers, employee reimbursements, and statements.
Enters, updates, and/or retrieves accounting data from automated systems.
Posts financial data to appropriate accounts in an automated accounting system, according to instructions.
Reviews transactions for changes and accuracy and corrects errors.
Retrieves system reports against annual work plans
Disburses funds using manual/local warrants or petty cash and makes change according to specific instructions.
Files records and reports.
Reconciles transactions, financial data, and other information to an automated accounting system.
Pre-audits, verifies, and processes employee expense claims reviewing rules for employee compliance.
Inventories office supplies and equipment; prepares and submits orders for purchase.
Common sense to make judgments about a situation requiring deviations from routine tasks and immediately report to the Project Administrator/Accountant and/or Leader any irregularity that could arise.
Explains appropriate work instructions to other employees. Interprets and applies instructions and guidelines to resolve work problems.
Performs related work as assigned.
Knowledge is required at the experienced level,
Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping terminology and practices. automated accounting systems, spreadsheets and database
Knowledge of general record keeping and filing systems.
Ability is required at the experienced level
Ability to compare data from a variety of sources for accuracy and completeness,
