Deloitte seeks to a Chief of Party the anticipated multi-year, USAID-funded, U.S. Trade and Investment Center (TIC). TIC will spur inclusive economic growth by promoting an enabling environment for trade and investment and increasing East African trade and investment, particularly to and from the United States (U.S.). Through TIC, USAID seeks to spur transformational economic growth in East Africa, including through trade and investment, by promoting regional integration and trade; expanding African capacity to effectively access and benefit from global markets; and encouraging U.S. companies to trade with and invest in Africa, excluding oil and extractive industries. TIC success will witness increased intra-regional and international trade resulting in economic growth that contributes to poverty reduction, strengthens the region’s resilience, and reinforces regional integration.
The Chief of Party will Provide technical and management oversight for the program, serve as the program’s lead in coordination among USAID and key stakeholders, and liaise with numerous public and private sector partners and stakeholders across the East African.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in economics, international trade, trade policy, investment or finance, business administration, international relations or relevant technology area;
- At least fifteen years of relevant experience, nine of which should be in developing countries, preferably in East Africa;
- At least eight years of experience managing and coordinating complex development programs in Africa;
- Experience as program manager for a program of comparable size and scope;
- Previous experience serving in an advisory capacity to high-level government officials on trade, economic policy, technology, or competitiveness;
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with institutional and private sector partners and stakeholders in a multi-country setting;
- Excellent writing and communication skills;
- Ability to use the latest ICT technology and computer software programs; and
- Excellent English required
- French fluency strongly preferred
