INTERPOL is the world’s largest international police organization, with 190 Member Countries. Created in 1923, it facilitates cross-border police co-operation, and supports and assists all organizations, authorities, and services whose mission is to prevent or combat international crime. INTERPOL is now looking for three Capacity Building Training Officers within the NCB and Police training Sub-Directorate which is part of the Capacity Building and Training Directorate (CBT).

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, and in close partnership with CBT, the relevant INTERPOL General Secretariat management personnel and all relevant internal and external stakeholders, the incumbent plans, designs, develops, implements and delivers capacity building and training programmes. She/he develops, implements and coordinates all other operationally-oriented courses delivered in partnership with other directorates in accordance with the INTERPOL Training Strategy and “INTERPOL Guide to Effective Training”.
She/he directly tracks, monitors, coordinates, supports and reports to the Assistant Director, and also identifies the risks of delays to project/program schedule.
1. PRIMARY DUTIES
- Plan, design and coordinate capacity building programs and operationally oriented programmes or other training resources, including implementation and participation to those programmes based on the needs expressed by CBT and the Executive Directorate IGCI. When applicable, this may include designing and coordinating operationally oriented police programmes, especially with regard to I-24/7 and affiliated programmes
- Provide administrative and operational support within the framework of the approved budget for the establishment and roll out of the Capacity Building /Training Programs/Projects,
- Coordinate, develop and organize the curriculum for the assigned programme/project and prepare the validation process accordingly,
- Assist in coordinating internal and external meetings including proposing the agenda, preparing meeting documentation and materials, ensuring participation and effective and timely follow-ups,
- Draft reports and documents by researching, analysing and making recommendations, to track and recommend opportunities for the infusion of relevant subject matter within the framework of the capacity building/training program/project and also to analyse and propose evolutions to the training policies and processes,
- Ensure that program/project work plans and targets are communicated effectively and efficiently,
- Build up, promote and conduct capacity building and/or training courses in collaboration with other specialized officers and to evaluate the effectiveness of the training and capacity building activities and prepare post-training reports,
- Provide IPSG units with assistance and guidance on their capacity building and training programs when requested and tasked by the concerned AD/CBT,
- When applicable, develop new e-learning modules to complement the training programme and follow-up of users having participated in the distant learning programme,Perform any other duties as required by the supervisor.

2. REQUIREMENTS
All candidates will be assessed on the under mentioned requirements.
2.1 Training/Education required
- Three-to-four years’ university degree and/or proven extensive professional experience in the field of training.
2.2 Languages
- Fluent written and spoken English
2.3 Professional experience required
- At least three years professional experience in undertaking training needs analysis, curriculum design, delivery of training programmes and post training evaluations, ideally in the police community. Ten years’ experience in the area is required if the post holder does not have the required level of education.
2.4 Specific skills required
- Good office software skills, including excellent command in presentation and preparation of executive and business plan documents;
Excellent command of the wide range of databases and IT applications available through I-24/7 would be an asset;
Good knowledge of the latest developments in the field of capacity building and training, and preferably, good knowledge of the police work.
2.5 Specific aptitudes required
- Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative working relations with clients, stakeholders and senior management in a multi-cultural context.

In addition to the requirements, the following Assets and Special Aptitudes would be beneficial
- Police background and University degree, preferably, in management, adult learning or police administration.
- Excellent command of the wide range of databases and IT applications available through I-24/7 would be an asset.
- Professional experience in an international environment and in coordinating and facilitating training sessions and/or experience in providing groups with training and management skills development would also be an asset.
- Fluency in any other official language of INTERPOL (French, Spanish or Arabic).
3. WORKING CONDITIONS
- The starting salary for 5 is 3 479 (plus interim cost of living allowance) per month for a step 1.

- This post requires occasional travel on missions, sometimes of a long duration and at short notice.
- The incumbent will also be required to work occasional overtime based upon workload.
