Assistant Finance Officer (2 positions)
JOB PURPOSE
The job holder will provide support during audits and preparation of the financial reports and ensuring compliance with the guidelines from the regulating bodies. He/she will also be responsible to maintain the creditors' payments (accounts payable).
Key Responsibilities
Review, sort, code, verify, match and set invoices up for payment.
Track expenses and process expense reports and ensure the Service
Level Agreement (SLA) on payments is applied appropriately.
Prepare and process electronic transfers and cheque payments.
Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records.
Reconcile accounts payable transactions, research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and assist with month end closing. .
Provide supporting documentation for audits
Assist in solving Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) issues, prepare their payments and ensure the returns are submitted.
Maintain prepaid /accrual accounts.
Ensure the Fixed Assets Register is up to date and depreciated
Accordingly corporate tax.
Reconciliation of internal accounts as assigned by account owners.
Perform any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualification, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
A bachelor degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field from recognized University/Institution.
General knowledge in accounting, auditing and taxation.
Ability to work under tight deadlines without compromising
accuracy.
Preferred
Knowledge of accounts payable and Taxation.
Knowledge of general accounting procedures.
Proficient in data entry.
Computer Literate.
