Private Agricultural Sector Support (PASS) Trust (wwwpass.ac.tz) is a non-bank financial organization that facilitates provision of business development and financial services and credit guarantee to commercial farmers and agri-businesses that operate as small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) in Tanzania. The vision of PASS is to become a leading organization in the provision of financial and business development services in the Tanzanian agricultural sector.
The Managing Director is hereby inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced, dynamic and motivated Tanzanian citizens to immediately fill vacant positions currently existing in PASS Trust.
Assistant Accountant (1 post)
Position Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, Accountant Assistant will have the following tasks and responsibilities
Maintain proper books of accounts for Head Office.
Maintains an accurate and up to date Fixed Assets Register for Head office .
Manages petty cash; by ensuring proper recording, analysis, allocation to proper cost centers, authorization, and safeguard under lock. Petty cash should balance daily.
Per form’s all custodian functions (of petty cash, minimum reserves and other important official documents
Prepares all payments and issues receipts promptly of all deposits and banks them intact on daily basis.
Ensures proper adherence to approval limits in all financial transactions.
Captures all financial data into the accounting system, and ensures that all financial vouchers/documents are properly backed up and filed on daily basis.
Assists in timely and accurate preparation of the necessary periodic reports at Head Office.
Does all bank reconciliations, follows up all unresolved issues (reconciling items) with the bankers and executes all banking activities at Head Office.
Responsible for braches accounting and budgeting functions.
Monitors and verifies office supplies, telephone usage and utilities (water, rent, electricity, and fuel) bills against budgetary allocations on monthly basis. .
Maintains all subsidiary ledger accounts e.g. staff advances or staff loans.
Timely preparation and of monthly/quarterly branch financial reports with budgetary analysis.
Conduct other assignments as required by management .
Qualifications and experience
The candidate must have at least three years experience in accounting and financial management
Holder of a Degree/Advance diploma in Accountancy from a recognized Institutions .
Should possess Financial accounting knowledge and reporting with proved tract record
Must have experience with computerized accounting system/management information system, knowledge and experience with the Navision application will be added advantage.
Should be honesty, disciplined, integrity, and a self-starter with interpersonal skills necessary to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
Should be self starter and result driven with excellent communication skills
Term of employment:
The Assistant Accountant will be employed on a three years contract; the renewable of the contract will be on the basis of the performance. PASS offer s competitive remuneration package
Duty station: The duty station will be in Dar ES Salam.
