Position Summary
The key responsibility of the Geology and Geophysics business areas is to create and deliver BG Group’s global exploration appraisal and development strategy and programme.The discovery, appraisal and development of hydrocarbon resources are fundamental to our success. With that in mind, you’ll understand why the graduates who join us in this area and develop their careers as geologists have such an important role to play.
Our range of assets means you’ll have the opportunity to work on almost every type of reservoir, play and trap style. Assignments will provide opportunities in both conventional and unconventional resource plays and will enable you to experience every stage of the exploration and development life cycle.

Key Accountabilities
Develop and build a range of skills and behaviours through exposure to the business in a variety of placements within Geology. This includes a strong emphasis on developing Geoscience discipline capability by attending Geoscience Training Alliance (GTA) Foundation Courses or equivalent.Placements on the Geology IGDP may include:

As a founding member of the GTA, we provide a wide range of field and classroom based training courses. These courses offer structured theory to support your on-the-job training and cover every discipline you might come across in your international career.

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Minimum qualification: 2:1 Bachelors Degree
Desirable qualification: Post-graduate qualification
Subjects: Geology
Beyond your academic qualifications, we’ll be looking for excellent problem-solving skills and an aptitude for three-dimensional conceptualisation. Good communication and team working are also a must.Graduates joining the Geology IGDP should have:
