Plan International Inc. in Uganda was awarded a 5-year Cooperative Agreement tinder the Northern Uganda-Health Integration to Enhance Services (NU-HITES) project to continue providing technical assistance and capacity building support for Northern Uganda in Malaria, AIDS and Tuberculosis, integrate additional support in Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH), Family Planning (FP) and nutrition; while prioritizing the strengthening of district-level health facilities. Plan Uganda is an equal opportunity employer and would like to recruit competent persons to fill the following vacant positions under the NU-HITES project: Plan Uganda would therefore like to recruit the following positions for the NU-HITES project: Pharmaceutical Logistics Coordinators – 3 Positions; Gulu, Lira and Kitgum Sub-Regional Offices Reporting to the Sub-regional Project Coordinator, the successful candidates will provide technical support towards achieving improved availability of essential medicines and other health commodities in population in Northern Uganda. And will be expected to have frequent travels to districts in the Northern Region of Uganda. Dimensions of Role: The Logistics Coordinator will work closely with other project staff and the logistics teams in the districts, Medical Stores and Ministry of Health to provide continued technical assistance in ensuring efficiency in management of pharmaceutical commodities. This technical assistance is especially aimed at maintaining the current logistics management information systems and reporting requirements, data quality and completeness and supply chain effectiveness for the NU-HITES program and the general health programs in the district. The Logistics Coordinator will also work closely with the Supply Chain Specialist at the central project and the M&E team to transition the district logistics management information into integrated National pharmaceutical management and LMIS systems when they are developed.

The PMTCT Officer will serve to provide technical support for achievement of project outcomes related to availability of and accessibility to quality PMTCT services. S/he will have frequent travels to districts through out the Northern Region of Uganda. Dimensions of Role: Member of the Health Service Delivery Team of the NU- HITES project reporting to the TB/HIV Technical Advisor. Supports the TB/HIV Technical Advisor in designing, implementation and monitoring of facility and community- level HIV prevention activities and specifically PMTCT in line with MoH and international policy guidelines. This SMMC Officer will serve to provide technical support for achievement of project outcomes related to: promoting prevention of HIV through safe medical male circumcision. S/he will have frequent travels to districts through out the Northern Region of Uganda. Dimensions of Role: Member of the Health Service Delivery Team of the NU- HITES project reporting to the TB/HIV Technical Advisor, Supports the TB/HIV Technical Advisor in designing, implementation and monitoring of Safe Medical Male Circumcision for HIV prevention in line with MoH and international policy guidelines. Requirement: Key Behaviours to be considered for each position: Behaves consistently in approach to work and decision-making Strongly drives performance forward in area of the business for which they are responsible together with the team High level of integrity with commitment to meet deadlines Sets a strong learning culture in their part of the organisation Remains calm and positive under pressure and in difficult situations Aware of impact on others and adjusting own behaviour accordingly Laboratory Services Officer -1 Position based in Gulu Reporting to the TB/HIV Technical Advisor, the successful; candidate will be responsible for the medical laboratory services/activities in the fifteen project supported districts in Northern Uganda and will serve to provide technical support to ensure improved quality of laboratory services so as to achieve improved quality of care based on accurate and timely diagnosis of HIV/AIDS, Malaria, TB, STIs, and other clinical conditions. S/he will have frequent travels to districts throughout the Northern Region of Uganda. Dimensions of Role: Member of the Health Service Delivery Team of the NU- HITES project reporting to the TB/HIV Technical Advisor. Supports the TB/HIV Technical Advisor in designing, implementation and monitoring of medical laboratory services in line with MoH and international policy guidelines. S/he will provide technical and strategic support in strengthening district-based supply chain systems to ensure improved availability of essential medicines and other health commodities in the health facilities in Northern Uganda S/he will have frequent travels to districts through out  Region. Dimensions of Role: S/he will work closely with the Sub-regional project staff; District logistics teams, the National Medical Stores, the Joint Medical Stores, relevant USG funded partners, and the Pharmacy Division of the Ministry of Health to provide continued technical assistance in ensuring efficiency in commodities and supply chain management systems. This technical assistance is especially aimed at achieving efficiency and effectiveness of the Logistics Management Information Systems (LMIS), including improved reporting and data quality and use.
