Johanniter International Assistance is the department for humanitarian aid, development co-operation and Emergency assistance, implementing and supporting mostly health projects world wide.
Project Description:
Johanniter has been working in South Darfur since 2004, implementing health projects in close co-operation with the MoH with a focus on primary health care and rehabilitation and/or construction of PHC structures as well as control of disease outbreaks and health education. Johanniter´s country office is located in Nyala. One support office works from Khartoum. A South Darfur sub-office is located in Ed Al Fursan from where the project activities are coordinated.

Job Description:
The position is based in the provincial capital Nyala, South Darfur with regular travel to the field office in Ed Al Fursan, the project locations, the support office in Khartoum and future project locations.
The Logistician will be

Job Responsibilities:
Manage Darfur mission Supply Chain and ensure implementation of Johanniter International Assistance procurement and logistic policies/procedures, while observing donor regulations and local law.
Ensure field orders are passed to HQ/Berlin office and follow up
Manage local staff and conduct capacity building of national logistic staff, train national staff and partnering NNGO logistic team for independent work.
Ensure adequate management of transportation of staff and commodities in most cost and time efficient manner.
Manage car pool, including regular checks/maintenance and orders
Ensure field orders are passed to HQ/Berlin office and follow up
Manage local staff and conduct capacity building of national logistic staff, train national staff and partnering NNGO logistic team for independent work.
Ensure adequate management of transportation of staff and commodities in most cost and time efficient manner.
Manage car pool, including regular checks/maintenance and orders
Ensure stock distribution tracking (for purchased and donated commodities) and provide regular reports to Country Director and HQ logistic in coordination with Administrator and Programme Co-ordinator /Project Co-ordinators
Conduct site visits, provide logistic evaluation and implement measures as appropriate in conjunction with Administrator and Programme Co-ordinator /Project Co-ordinator
Manage team accommodation
Manage all technical installations and advice on all communication equipment
Ensure all necessary supporting documents are available
Additional tasks as required by Country Director

Minimum 2 years Field experience in developing countries

Terms and Conditions:
Duration: 6 months (with possible extension) with starting date in February 2013
Remuneration: Salary according to the ARV-J regulations + per diem
