JOB TITLE: Accountant.
Job Purpose: Apply principles of accounting to manage company accounts, mainly covering the following; Invoicing & collection, manage Merchant Accounts salaries and taxes, analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies required:
• A minimum of a Degree in Commerce, Accounting or Business Administration from a recognized University or relevant discipline;
• Minimum of part qualification in ACCA, CPA or CIMA is desirable;
• Academic excellence in all the above disciplines;
• At least 4 years relevant working experience in a similar busy environment;
• Good financial management skills with knowledge of computer Accounting Packages and good understanding of financial requirements and tax policies;
• Good Analytical Skills and Ability to work under minimum supervision;
• Self motivated with demonstrated ability to generate financial reports and meet set deadlines with good integrity and confidentiality;
• Knowledge of quick books is an added advantage;
• Ability to maintain personal professional development and competencies on financial issues; and
• A team player with good interpersonal, communication and creative thinking skills.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Carrying out day to day jobs of accounts, including cash and bank transactions handling;
• Periodically verifying the accounts balance of sales and posting the entries in ledgers;
• Periodical preparation of Bank reconciliations and other important accounts reconciliations;
• Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports;
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions;
• Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures;
• Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness;
• Prepare and review budgets, private funding ,revenue, expenditures, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents;
• Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control;
• Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors and clients.
• Recommend, develop and maintain financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing systems;
• Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company\\\\\\\'s automated financial systems.
• Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits; and
• Other duties as assigned.
