In 2014 the ISS will be offering research internships to Masters graduates in the field of political science, international relations, peace and conflict studies, criminology or criminal justice.
This twelve-month internship programme will be in collaboration with the Education, Training and Development Practices (ETDP) Sectoral Education and Training Authority (SETA) and will be based in the Pretoria office.
The aim of the programme is to build capacity and to provide masters graduates with the opportunity to gain practical and applied research skills across all thematic areas of the ISS.
The internship will involve conducting research, writing and preparing documents for publication, and assistance with related administrative functions. It will offer direct exposure to the activities and processes undertaken by the ISS to promote human security in Africa. It will also provide an opportunity to gain practical experience in conducting and disseminating research findings, interacting with researchers and practitioners, as well as exposure to seminars, training courses, and other events in the field of human security.
The programme will commence on 3 February 2014 and interns will be paid a monthly stipend.
