The Association of Private Health Facilities in Tanzania (APHFTA) is a Non-Governmental Organization that exists to serve as a public forum for the private health sector and provide a comprehensive array of advocacy, administrative, knowledge-sharing and networking products and services to the private health sector. APHFTA is dedicated to improving the quality of care and services in the Private Health Sector in Tanzania.
- PROJECT OFFICER-SOCIAL FRANCHISING PROJECT
APHFTA is seeking to recruit a Social Franchising Officer who will manage a Social Franchising project aiming at improving the quality of care delivered by the Private Health Sector, with a focus to Maternal and Child Health services, Cervical Cancer and HIV/AIDS. He/ She will oversee the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of a comprehensive quality/performance improvement program in private health facilities participating in the Social Franchising Program. Reporting to the NCD Project Manager, this position is a national recruitment and will be based in Dar es Salaam and will involve significant travel.
Specific Responsibilities will include:
v Participate in developing and planning for the Social Franchising project with support from other project staff and partners
v Participate in developing project budgets as per the project proposal
v Provide training and technical support to APHFTA members in the quality improvement program
v Monitor the implementation of quality upgrading plans in the facilities participating in the program
v Develop monthly, quarterly and annual project reports
v Participate in setting up project targets and indicators and support in updating the indicator tracking tools regularly
v Coordinating between the project’s internal and external interfaces
Key Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required:
v Minimum of a Diploma in Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Public Health or any health equivalent health related field
v Advanced Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Medicine/ Nursing or equivalent degree will be an advantage
v At least 2 years experience in the relevant field with some experience of working in performance improvement/quality management position
v Ability to work with several facilities and partners with a focus on achieving a common goal
v Communication and interpersonal skills for frequent contact with internal and external stakeholders of the APHFTA to persuade and negotiate on matters of relevance to the project
v A good understanding and experience in project management and working towards achieving project’s objectives
v Leadership skills, including demonstrated willingness to pursue leadership roles with increasing levels of accountability
v Good Computer skills in MS excel, Word, Powerpoint, internet etc
- QUALITY OFFICER
APHFTA is seeking to recruit a Quality Officer for the Medical Credit Fund/Safe Care Program. Reporting to the Senior Quality Officer this position is a national Recruitment, based in Dar es Salaam and will involve some travel.
Specific Responsibilities will include:
v Participate in Planning and implementation of quality improvement activities in APFHTA
v Participate in developing departmental project budgets, budget forecasts, budget follow-ups
v Provide training and technical support to APHFTA members in the quality improvement process
v Perform base line health facilities assessments, assist in developing quality upgrading plans and monitoring of the implementation
v To ensure that quality upgrading plans are properly implemented and synchronized with the approved business plans
v Develop monthly, quarterly and annual project reports in collaboration with other staff
v Coordinating between the project’s internal and external interfaces
v Participate in meetings with APHFTA members, partners and stakeholders as assigned by the supervisor
