Tanzania Cotton Board is a regulatory body established under the Cotton Industry Act No. 2 of 2001 whose functions are provision of regulatory, development and promotion services to the cotton industry in Tanzania.
4.1 PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT - (1 POST)
4.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
• Supervise preparation of bank reconciliation statements,
• Verify reconciled general ledger balances with subsidiary ledger balances for approval,
• Authenticate correctness of claims and retirements,
• Assist in the preparation of accounts reports,
• Assist maintaining fixed asset register,
• Assist in preparation of unit annual budget,
• Assist in correcting and approving internal audit query reports,
• Performing any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
4.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Diploma in accounting from a recognized university /institution.
• At least eight (8) years working experience in reputable organization.
4.1.3 REMUNERATION
• Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institution’s salary scale TCBS 6
4.2 PERSONAL SECRETARY II - (1 POST)
4.2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
• Receive and attend visitors,
• Attend telephone calls and take messages,
• Prepare and serve refreshments to officers as and when required,
• Type confidential correspondence, letters, manuscript, reports and proceedings,
• Draft simple letters, handle mails and take dictation,
• Make travel and hotel arrangements /booking,
• Ensure the availability of stationery and other working equipment for the relevant office,
• Carrying other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
4.2.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Form four certificate and certificate of secretarial services from Public Service College with pass of 80 w.p.m.shorthand in either Kiswahili or English.
• Certificate in computer programmes: windows, Microsoft office, internet, email and publisher.
4.2.3 REMUNERATION
• Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institution’s salary scale TCBS 3.
4.3 PERSONAL SECRETARY I - (1 POST)
4.3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
• Draft and type letters,
• Receive screen, and direct telephone calls and relay messages,
• Welcome and attend visitors,
• Organize and maintain diary of appointments ,
• Deal with correspondences,
• Arrange for meetings and taking minutes,
• Produce official documents when required,
• Organize and store official documents,
• Arrange travel and accommodation,
• Carrying out other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor,
4.3.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Form four Certificates with certificate of secretarial services from Public Services College with pass of 100 w.p.m. short hand in either Kiswahili or English.
• Certificate in computer programmes eg. Windows, Microsoft Office Internet, E-mail and Publisher
• At least three years (3) working experience in similar position.
4.3.3 REMUNERATION
• Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institution’s salary scale TCBS 4
4.4 COTTON INSPECTOR II - (1 POST)
4.4.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
• Assists on monitoring cotton cultivation activities in a specified area,
• Assists by ensuring that standards grade sample boxes approved by the Board are placed at all buying posts,
• Assists on monitoring production, processing and marketing costs of cotton,
• Assists by ensuring that all seed cotton delivered at the buying posts of ginneries is correctly graded and free from any foreign matter contamination,
• Assists in monitoring of cotton buying activities and ensuring that rules and regulations are adhered to,
• Assists by collecting and analyzing data and providing reports on purchases, deliveries and ginning and cotton grade and
• Carrying out other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
4.4.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor Degree in agricultural science or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
4.4.3 REMUNERATION
