MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan organizes the purchase and delivery of equipment, materials, stationery and office supplies and services;
- Negotiate with suppliers on prices, credit terms and discounts and arrange delivery schedules;
- Negotiate administer contracts for purchase or sale of equipment, materials products and services;
- Prepare and review requests for bids, process specifications and other exhibits required in the procurement process;
- Service Tenders Boards meetings and serve as Secretariat to the Board;
- Make Travel arrangements for official travel of staff and other persons undertaking travel missions on behalf of the organization;
- Arrange for the transportation of staff members households goods on initial recruitment, transfer to other duty stations and separation from the services of the organization;
- Arrange transportation of equipment, documents and materials to conference and meeting venues outside Headquarters;
- Prepare periodic reports on staff travel and related expenditure and cost travel plans for budget purposes; Performance appraisal of staff in the Unit;
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Candidates must have a minimum qualification of a Masters Degree/Degree in Business Administration/Materials Management/Supply Chain Management/ from a recognized institution. Specialized Advance Diploma in Materials Management is an added advantage.
- In addition, the Candidate must possess Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management (CIPS) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Candidates must possess a minimum of eight (8) years progressive professional experience in Procurement and travel Management in a major Government, International Organization, Public or Private Sector Organization.
OTHER SKILLS:
- Computer literate particularly Microsoft Office Applications and familiarity with electronic data processing systems;
- Excellent materials management skills and must be able to work with minimum supervision;
- Excellent experience, interpersonal skills and ability to organize and motivate others to work in a multi culture environment.
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to plan, delegate and direct subordinates.
Age Requirement:
Candidates must preferably be between 30 and 45 years old.
Tenure of Appointment:
The appointment will be made on a fixed term contract for a period of three (3) years, of with the first twelve months will be considered as a probationary period. Thereafter, the contract will be for a period of two years renewable, subject to satisfactory performance and deliverables.

Remuneration:
Indicative basic salary of US$ 33,619.00 per annum plus other related entitlements e.g. Post adjustment (46% of basic salary), Housing allowance 14,414.40 perineum), education allowance (75% of tuition and other education related expenses for every eligible dependent up to a maximum of US$7,800.00 per child per annum), etc for internationally recruited staff of the Commission
