CA Global has a client that is in need of a Managing Director (Retail / FMCG). This position will be based in Tanzania.

Overview:

Our client, a European investment group, is embarking upon a new project which will aim to compete in the Retail / FMCG space in Tanzania.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• They are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Managing Director to drive this project from launch through to successful operation and profitability.

• This Board level role is integral to the success of the business and will have full P&L responsibility.

• The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up a Retail Distribution and franchise network as well as creating and managing the Marketing and Advertising, HR, Finance and Logistics functions.

Qualifications

• You will have a minimum of 10 years managerial experience, including relevant experience in either Retail, Leisure, Branded Goods, Consumer or FMCG sectors.

• Recent senior managerial experience preferably at a Managing Director or Regional/Country Manager level.

• You will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in emerging markets, including at least 1 year in a senior managerial role in Tanzania.

• Min of a Bachelors’ Degree from an internationally recognised institution, preferably in Business, Finance or Marketing or related discliplines.

N.B. We require candidates who are either citizens of Tanzania OR have extensive experience living and working there.
